Xavier takes great pride in its iconic uniform. The dress code enforced at Xavier is confusing at times but a comprehensive description can be found in the student handbook.

In the handbook it says, “Xavier regulation collared shirts must be worn at all times.” Translation: don’t wear any Xavier shirt without a collar unless you are riding out a rebellious streak. If you are the type to get super cold, layering is a good idea.

Obviously, sweat shirts are a must during the winter.

“Let’s be real, going without a sweatshirt here [at Xavier] is a bit reckless since some classrooms are rumored to drop to subzero temperatures before the heater gets turned on,” junior Madison Kloeber said.  But when you choose a sweatshirt, be aware that, according to the handbook, “only Xavier sweatshirts sold by Artcraft or a vendor contracted by Xavier may be worn.”

Cozy socks are another important article of clothing to wear as well as footed tights  “as long as they are solid white, blue, black, gray or socks with the XCP emblem sold at the Gear XChange.” Unfortunately, fuzzy socks are not permitted to be worn on standard uniform days.

If all else fails, blankets are literally a blanket solution to your cold weather problems.
