25 Christmas Songs For the 25 Days of Christmas

Christmas music catches everyone’s attention when it first plays, whether you think it is playing too early, too late or just on time. The holiday hits stem from Mariah Carey’s classic “All I Want for Christmas is You,” to “Feliz Navidad” by José Feliciano. There are so many classic Christmas songs that can get you into the Christmas spirit. Although the music starts just before Thanksgiving, time will fly by fast and pretty soon the Christmas spirit and songs will be over!

When asked what her favorite Christmas song is, senior Lily Tierney exclaims, “My favorite Christmas song is “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” by Band Aid. This is my favorite Christmas song because it gets me in the Christmas spirit and makes me reflect on other parts of the world and how they celebrate Christmas.”

Senior Hannah Shulski replied with, “My favorite Christmas song is ‘Christmas Eve Sarajevo 12/24” by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra because I play the cello in the Xavier/Brophy orchestra, and we have played that song for one of our previous Christmas concerts. It is so much fun to play!”

Lastly, senior April Platt commented, “‘Santa Claus is Coming to Town’ by Bruce Springsteen because it’s the best version of that song. It’s just really good.”

No matter where you go in public, you cannot seem to escape the Christmas music. This music has become one of the biggest holiday traditions for many stores all around the United States. When you listen to the songs, it helps get you into the Christmas spirit and you might even find yourself singing along to them in stores.
