The Frosh Mixer is the first social event for Brophy/Xavier freshman, and as such, it is one that every student will always remember. It is meant to introduce freshman girls to freshman boys and give them a taste of what Brophy/Xavier dances are like. The memory of hundreds of anxious students dancing in a crushing environment is one that is permanently engraved in Xavier students’ minds. This year’s theme was Frosh Trek, which was creatively thought of thanks to the collaboration of Brophy and Xavier’s student councils.

The music is one of the most important factors of the dance, besides the girls’ well-planned outfits, of course. “The music was good jumping music,” said freshwoman Carmela Palmieri.

There is also real interaction with boys. Freshwoman Analisa Roman said that the dance was “chaotic but, I had fun meeting new people and bonding with some girls over how cute the guys were.”

The Frosh Mixer creates lasting memories for Xavier girls to carry with them throughout their high school careers. “I really enjoyed it, I heard from upperclassmen that it was pretty crazy and it was, but we all have to experience it,” said freshwoman Nina Lafave. The dance varies each year in theme and people, but never fails to be an exciting, iconic way for girls to begin their Xavier experience.
