Senior year… When you are a freshman, sophomore and even a junior, it sounds like a made up point in time that you will never actually reach. It represents the “fun year” when you are “all grown up.” It is thought of as the light at the end of your four year tunnel. But the truth is, it is not as much an end as it is a beginning, and the light is not just coming from all that lies ahead, it is also a reflection of the past.

Over the past four years, the greatest light Xavier has given me are my incredible best friends.

To the best people I know: I love you all so much. I cannot believe how a group of such different people came together by such chance. You all have made my time at Xavier outrageously fun, survivable and ultimately, full of love. Each of you are bound for successes as incredible as you are. You are strong, intelligent, driven, hilarious and everything I enjoy about being at Xavier. You all brighten my day, every day.

To Xavier: Thank you for a worthwhile, enjoyable and rigorous four years. I do not know what I will do when I have to actually choose an outfit every day next year.

The last year really does go by too quickly, and I think about that each day as we get closer to graduation. The Class of 2019 was an amazing group of young women to be a part of. As we all say goodbye to one another, we also say hello to our new futures, anticipating the brightness of what is yet to come and also appreciating all that we will leave behind.
