Dr. Stephen Cook recently visited Xavier on September 23, 2015. His lecture,”Picturing Rachmaninoff”, added visual and literary elements to explain the tone of Rachmaninoff’s music. Ms. Naoko Garrison arranged many pre and post lecture activities to further augment the students’ experience. Rachmaninoff composed pieces of music that is widely considered as some of the most technically difficult pieces ever written.
