It’s been a tremendous honor to serve as the managing editor of XPress. I’m deeply grateful for the guidance of the editor-in-chief, the section editors, the staff writers and XPress advisor, Mr. Mos. Our collective efforts have been instrumental in the success of the news-site, leading to a multitude of team and individual awards this year. This is a testament to our shared dedication and hard work.
Observing the constant enthusiasm of our team, their innovative ideas, and their relentless efforts to promote XPress, I am filled with pride and optimism. I am certain that XPress will thrive under the leadership of these intelligent, confident and barrier-breaking young women.
I want to thank Mr. Mos and the XPress staff for an unforgettable experience. Participating on the news-site is the highlight of my Xavier career. It has solidified my passion for writing and for positively impacting the community. Mr. Mos has been the most supportive teacher, as he sees the potential in every student and never fails to help when asked.
Although it fills me with sadness to think about the end of seventh periods full of shared laughs with the editor-in-chief and section editors, I am excited to move forward and accomplish all my goals.
I advise next year’s staff and the managing editor, Vivian Amoia, to pay attention to what the people around you are doing. Doing this allows you to learn about a nonprofit organization a student has founded or an exciting project a teacher is working on—topics that could make an engaging article, podcast or video. Also, don’t be afraid to ask questions, as Mr. Mos and the staff genuinely want the best for you and the news-site.
