Xavier’s Jingle Jangle DJ PJ Party promises to be a night to remember. A fun event has been planned, filled with activities for both Gators and Broncos to enjoy. While this year’s event might look a little different from last year, much more is to come, and a night of memories lies ahead.
This event is a great opportunity for classmates to spend time together enjoying the spirit of Christmas. “Students can expect dancing, fun games and cozy holiday movies; essentially it’s just a really good time with friends,” said Micah Cagungun, president of Executive Board.
This year’s Christmas event will take place on Saturday, December 14 from 7-10 p.m. at Xavier. Students are invited to wear casual holiday pajamas and are being encouraged to invite students from other schools.
The dress code for this event is casual. “Students should wear their favorite warm and comfy Christmas PJs since they’ll be outside,” said Jennifer Tesdall, Executive Board moderator.
Xavier and Brophy students should plan to purchase online tickets ahead of time for $5, while guests will need to bring $5 cash and pay at the event. Although students are allowed to bring guests, they must be on the approved list by Dean Denise Macrina.
“Guests are allowed though they must stay with their Brophy or Xavier students,” said Tesdall.
There are quite a few changes made to this year’s holiday event. Instead of the event having a focus on a carnival, it offers outdoor movies and indoor dancing, as well as games.
The outdoor section of this event will include two movies, food trucks and complimentary hot chocolate and popcorn. “Students can bring blankets or chairs to enjoy and watch the movie outside,” Tesdall said. Students are also encouraged to bring cash to spend on the festive food trucks that will be there.
Inside the school, there will be a DJ and dance floor, in addition to a game area. Yard games, decks of cards and Spikeball will all be available for students to enjoy.
This event has been planned and is hosted by the 2024-2025 Executive Board members and moderators. The nine members of the Executive Board brainstormed many ideas for this year’s event with the goal to make it extra special.
“We started off just throwing around a ton of ideas, and then we narrowed it down to something fun and laid-back that everyone would enjoy. After that, we figured out the details to make it all come together,” Cagungun said.
“At first we thought about bringing back a formal dance but we eventually settled on something casual, to focus on embracing the holidays and not cause anymore stress, especially when approaching finals,” said Executive Board public relator Vida Castillo.
Executive Board members, as well as their two moderators, worked hard on this event and are hoping to bring the holiday spirit to all who attend. The night will be filled with joy and is a great opportunity to spend time with classmates.
“With this event being so close to finals I think that everyone should enjoy themselves. With the end of the semester I think it’s important to be able to have some fun and embrace the community you’ve made and use them as support if you feel that this time is tough,” Castillo said.
The Executive Board members are encouraging all students to attend the Jingle Jangle DJ PJ party. This event is sure to offer students one last bit of fun before finals and the start of Christmas vacation.
“It’s so important to have a fun break from studying during finals because it’s such a stressful time, and this event is a perfect way to relax, have fun and reset,” added Cagungun.
