The most anticipated part of any school quarter for many Xavier girls is the rallies. But behind all of the fun and school spirit is the intelligent Executive Board, composed of Xavier students who work every day to better the student body and brainstorm ideas for these rallies.
President Michal Cagungun 25’ says that “a person has to be passionate about the student body in order to make Xavier more enjoyable for all of its students.”
To be passionate for all, one must consider the entirety of the student body and work with others to make school a better place for everyone attending.
Trials and tribulations take place in every leadership role, and Cagungun explains the importance of listening to other members and really taking in what they have to say.
“This can spark some amazing ideas and conversations that I would have never thought of otherwise,” said Cagungun. This includes the rally themes and different ways to keep students engaged.
With all the work she has done to help the Executive Board prosper, it is finally time to pass on the torch. Cagungun’s advice to all incoming members is to “cherish all of the moments because they go extremely quick.”
Now that the newly-elected Executive Board is in full swing, Executive Board’s 2025-2026 secretary Myriam Lawrence ‘26 plans on carrying out the traditions of the board.
Lawrence, who was sophomore president of the student council, says that the Executive Board and student council are very different from each other. “Executive Board is more geared toward overseeing and planning for student council to help us set up and further plan.”
Lawrence shares her optimism for this new role, saying, “I am most excited for all the school rallies and to help put on events for the Xavier community to enjoy.”
Executive Board can be more challenging than regular student council as it is a big responsibility to take on. Lawrence adds, “I think the biggest challenge will be staying organized and staying on task.”
The student body plays an important role in the Executive Board. Junior Lara Henderson has been involved with the Xavier community since freshman year, dancing in rallies and playing soccer.
“Executive Board really inspires me because of how inclusive they are with all that they do. This motivates me to participate in school events and to invite others to participate as well,” Henderson said.
Setting examples for underclasswomen and paving the way for new bright ideas, the Executive Board is one of the many hearts of the community.
