One of the best parts about Christmas are all of the new holiday movies that come out each year! Netflix is the most popular outlet for movies, especially throughout the holidays. On Netflix, you can find some of the best classic Christmas movies such as How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Love Actually, Holiday Baggage, The Nutcracker, and many more. Aside from classic Christmas movies, Netflix also has many Original Movies that are centered around the holidays.

Throughout 2018, the Netflix Original Movies have grown insanely popular, especially among teenagers. Netflix have released 6 original movies this holiday season that have become very popular and are on lots of “To Watch Lists” for this holiday season. The 6 holiday movies are The Princess Switch, A Christmas Prince, A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding, Christmas Inheritance, The Christmas Chronicles, and The Holiday Calendar.

The Princess Switch was released in Nov. 2018 and stars Vanessa Hudgens, Sam Palladio and Nick Sagar. A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding was released in Nov. 2018 and is a sequel to A Christmas Prince. This movie has the same cast as the original Christmas Prince movie. The plot is based around the royal couple preparing for their royal Christmas wedding but complications soon arise when the princess begins to question her role as queen.

Sophomore Kailey Appel commented on her satisfaction with The Christmas Prince and The Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding saying that, “Those movies are very cute, romantic, and put you in the Christmas spirit. They teach you that your family is always gonna be there for you no matter what.”

Christmas Inheritance was released in Dec. 2017 and stars Eliza Taylor, Jake Lacy and Andie MacDowell. The plot is about a city girl that hopes to run her dad’s successful business but must go to his hometown to deliver his “Christmas Letters”. She ends up learning more about genuine love and friendship while on her trip. The Christmas Chronicles were released in Nov. 2018 and star Kurt Russell, Judah Lewis and Darby Camp. The story is based around 2 kids that hope to catch Santa on Christmas Eve night. They end up crashing his sleigh, resulting in them helping Santa deliver the remainder of the presents. The Holiday Calendar was released Nov. 2018 and stars Kat Graham, Quincy Brown and Ethan Peck. The movie is about a photographer that finds an Advent calendar with the ability to predict the future. The calendar ends up leading the photographer to love and happiness.
