Stark gallery through the eyes of Mr. Williams
Mr. Mike Williams documents every exhibit showcased in the Stark gallery.
Since the reveal of the Stark gallery in 2003, our very own Mr. Mike Williams has documented every exhibit showcased. His involvement in the beginning of the alumna-named gallery led him to experience all the early work filtered through Stark gallery. His documentation of the early pieces spiraled into an extensive collection of photographed exhibits. From professional artists to alumnae to our own students, Mr. Williams captures it all.
Williams said, “My favorite art is student art. I also like pictures of people and scenery because the world is full of it. Abstract work has become very popular, but it has to grow on me; I’m learning to love it.”
When Williams sees students visiting and discussing the work on display he realizes how important it is to document the artwork. “We are blessed to have it [Stark gallery].”
Numerous boxes currently hold the pictures of the gallery over the years. He plans on creating a scrapbook out of the photographs. It is important to him that the gallery and its past exhibits are available to our alumnae, students, parents and faculty.
