Arizona spring training, also known as the Cactus League, is a very popular and exciting event for people of all ages. It is known as an Arizonan treasure, as well as a tradition. The Cactus League has always been adored by many locals, tourists and, of course, baseball fans.
Spring training is quite an entertaining event. Nice temperatures and an array of sunshine result in an intimate experience that only spring training offers, including meeting some of the best baseball players to having a good time with family and friends.
Spring training baseball has been a tradition for devoted, and even recent fans, since 1947, when just two teams, the Cleveland Indians and the New York Giants, came to Arizona to prepare themselves for the tiring regular season. Xavier junior, Lauren Bruner, said, “I have been attending Spring Training ever since I was a little kid! I am grateful due to the fact that my grandpa gets season tickets every year. It’s really fun with friends and family and I look forward to going each year to watch some quality baseball and spend valuable time with my friends and family!” Nowadays, 15 teams train in some of the best professional baseball facilities in the Phoenix metropolitan area and the United States as a whole.
The Arizona Cactus League Association is deeply rooted in the history of Arizona. Since 1947, the Arizona Cactus League Association has been made up of members with immediate interest in the good of the league. The Cactus League industry grows more and more each year and generously contributes almost $600 million annually in economic impact. Currently, teams such as the Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers, and San Francisco Giants call Arizona their spring training home, according to the Cactus League’s official website.
There are some Cactus League facilities that provide volunteer opportunities and nonprofit partnerships that produce genuine contributions to many charities, scholarships, and programs throughout Arizona. In general, the Cactus League and its teams better themselves as human beings and players, as well as advance Arizona economically and physically.
