October traditions and treats

Every year, Halloween is a holiday that is greatly anticipated in my household. From dressing up in costumes, to making assorted treats, we always make sure that our house is decked out with Halloween items.

One of my favorite things to do during the Halloween season is go to the pumpkin patch and bring home some pumpkins to carve while watching a Halloween movie. This is a simple, but fun activity that anyone can to do with their family or friends.

If you are not into getting your hands dirty and carving pumpkins, going to a haunted house is also something that can be fun during the Halloween season. Some popular haunted houses include The 13th Floor and Fear Farm. These haunted houses definitely make for a good scare, so come prepared with some trustworthy friends and family.

Lastly, baking can make for a wonderful Halloween activities to get in the spirit of the holiday. Two of my favorite treats to make are pumpkin chocolate chip muffins and “spooky” rice krispy treats. The muffins are super easy to make and are always a fan favorite. My favorite recipe I have found for these muffins is on the website All Recipes.

For the spooky rice krispies, I love to make them into little monster shapes for halloween. My favorite recipe for these is found on the website One Little Project. These two fun treats are simple to make and will sure make for a spooky and traditional Halloween snack.
