A Very Merry Masquerade: a recap
Xavier hosted another wonderful Christmas dance this year on Saturday, Dec. 9. This dance called for long, fancy dresses and celebrated the Christmas season with friends. With the theme being, “A Very Merry Masquerade,” many students were encouraged to wear masks to elegantly conceal their identity.
Along with dancing, the Christmas dance has lots to offer. Karaoke was a huge hit, as well as the offered food trucks and green screen photos. The dance was located in Founders Hall, karaoke in Lutfy Hall and the food trucks in the Robson Plaza.
The dance started at 8 pm, so many attendees went out to dinner before. But, the dance did provide many food options, including the food trucks, Krispy Kreme doughnuts and Hava Java drinks. The Grub Stack and Mustache Pretzels food trucks were also a huge hit.
Junior Natalie Vitols attended the dance Saturday night. She said that her “favorite part of the Christmas dance was the karaoke. It was so much fun singing with all of my friends to our favorite songs. The free food was also great, especially the Mustache pretzels!”
Prior to the day of the dance, fun activities occurred around campus to get students excited for the dance, as well as the Christmas season. Many participated in Xavier’s third annual Scavenger Hunt. Prizes for the two lucky winners included free tickets to the dance, along with custom made masks by Dean Katherine Whitlow. The tricky riddles were solved by Xavier junior Anika Salazar and Brophy sophomore Michael Talone.
Xavier’s Christmas dance helped students get in the Christmas spirit and have a fun time with their friends.
