Gators go south for Me to We

This coming Presidents’ Day weekend, from the Feb. 15 to Feb. 19., a select few among the Xavier community will be traveling to Southern Arizona on a service mission. Through the nonprofit organization, Me to We, and under the mentorship of Ms. Jenny James, these girls will be running a self-sufficient farm as well as helping with local organizations.

and ducks, helping with ranch-chores after receiving knowledge about local organizations and communal issues. These issues have, in the past, included immigration, poverty, hunger and most of all environmental deterioration.

Ms. James, the teacher who spearheaded the new addition to Xavier’s interactive trips, says she “hopes that the girls discover their potential, explore the social issues that we’re going to be talking about, build transferable skills, get out of their comfort zones and create positive, social change.”
