Every day on summer vacation is invaluable, especially as each new school year quickly approaches. If there’s one thing Xavier girls do better than anyone else it’s make use of their summers! We know vacations and pool days are a necessity, but why not apply for a great summer arts program at a university? They’re fun, informative, and a great way to meet people and explore different colleges and potential college majors! Here are some of the greatest summer arts programs that you should definitely check out:

1. Chapman University’s Dodge College Summer Film Academy

I have attended this program myself, last summer, and I can tell you it was the best two weeks of my life. It was so much fun, super interesting and I learned more about filmmaking then I could’ve dreamed. This is a two week program at Chapman University in Orange, California. It consists of lectures, field trips, movie screening and lots of filmmaking. The teachers are all alumni or current teachers/students of Dodge College and at the end of the two weeks is a special presentation of the final short film.
