Xavier Athletic Trainer Laurie White rewarded for achievement
Every so often, Xavier faculty and staff are recognized for their outstanding accomplishments in education and beyond. Recently, Mrs. Laurie White, the Xavier athletic trainer, has become a recipient of the National Athletic Trainers Association’s Service award. This honor was bestowed upon her because of her dedication to the safety of athletes.
Mrs. White is very skilled in the field of athletic training; she has been a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association since 1985, a co-chairperson of the Governmental Affairs Committee for the Arizona Athletic Trainers Association for five years and an athletic trainer at Xavier for eleven years. She says that she is thrilled to receive this award because “athletic training is a service profession and the Service Award is an honor for which I am very grateful.”
The National Athletic Trainers Association will present this award to Mrs. White during their Education Symposium in New Orleans this summer. Mrs. White’s husband, Christopher White, is also a recipient of this award. He is the athletic trainer at Brophy and will go onstage with Mrs. White so they can receive their awards together.
