Current juniors share tips for incoming juniors

Dear incoming juniors,

As the year is coming to a close, students of the junior class reflect on their experiences giving tips and different to incoming juniors. Many people regard junior year as the hardest year of high school, so it is important to get in the right mind-set. There are both pros and cons to being a junior. You are now an upperclassman and you can leave early before lunch! This is the beginning of the end and prepares you for senior year, college and the future.

 

Tips:

Emme East says one should “Learn to manage your time between studying, homework, and your classes. Juggling it all will be hard but not impossible!”

Abbey Alexander claims “I really liked AP English. I definitely recommend taking this class as a junior because it’s fun and very interesting.”

Lindsay Hubbard’s favorite aspect of junior year is “getting out 5 mins early at lunch second semester and being first in line for microwaves!”

Johnnie Mitchell says “A piece of advice I would give to incoming juniors is to get on top of your homework!”

Meade Schraff tells “I definitely recommend taking APUSH because Mr. Long makes history a blast! I learned tons in his class.”

Arden Smith says, “Don’t procrastinate and turn in all of your work on time! It is important that you do not get behind because the workload builds up.”

Helen Innes shared that “It is definitely cool being an upperclassman, but I would suggest studying for the SAT and the ACT asap and not start two weeks before.”

Claudia Garcia emphasizes: “Do all of your work and submit everything you can on time!”Evelyn Cardona says that it is important to “learn how to manage your time better. Try to get ahead if you can!”
