Salted carmel mocha from Starbuck offers a sweet and salty treat.

With the holiday season it can be hard to find quality holiday drinks when several fast food chains have them scattered across their menus. But, no need to worry Xavier girls, here is a list of holiday drinks that I’ve tried and rated.

Peppermint Mocha or Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino (Starbucks) – 5/5

This festive drink is comprised of a mocha Frappuccino with peppermint syrup, whipped cream, and red sprinkles dusted on top. When tasting if it immediately gave off a rich, smooth and sweet taste. The aftertaste however is minty enough to blend in with the creaminess. The drink was extremely addictive for me both in the mocha and Frappuccino versions. Both of which are practically the same in taste.

Salted Caramel Mocha (Starbucks) – 3/5

Made with Espresso and steamed milk, with mocha sauce and toffee nut syrup. Topped with whipped cream, caramel sauce and a mixture of turbinado sugar and sea salt. This drink was a little to salty for my taste and tasted abnormal with the sweet mocha sauce. The drink closely resembles salted caramel though, so if you are a big fan of salted caramel you might enjoy it.

Peppermint Milkshake (Chick-fil-A)- 5/5

Each shake is hand-spun with Chick-fil-A’s Icedream and mixed in with peppermint and chocolate chips and topped with whipped cream. This drink is super sweet, and the blend of peppermint and chocolate chips is crunchy and addictive. I highly recommend.

Peppermint Mocha (McDonalds)- 4/5

This mocha is made of steamed milk, peppermint chocolate syrup, and topped with whipped topping and chocolate drizzle on top. The mocha is quite sweet and reminds me of a candy cane that has been dipped in hot chocolate. It wasn’t special for me, but it was still pretty tasty.

Toasted Mellow (Dutch Bros) – 4/5

Made up of espresso blended with chocolate macadamia nut and vanilla, this drink gave a sweet, comforting taste. I wouldn’t call it addictive, but I still consider it a pretty good drink. I haven’t had many other drinks from Dutch Bros however, so I wouldn’t know how it compares to their other variety of beverages.
