Would you ever drastically change your lifestyle for free concert tickets? What if that lifestyle was veganism and the concert was with Beyoncé and Jay-Z?

Queen Bey wants to help us out by giving everyone the chance to see her concerts for free. Yes, for free. The only clincher: all it would take is for us to go vegan. Simple, right? Beyoncé posted on her Instagram in late Jan. proposing the idea with her husband Jay-Z, in pairing with TheGreenprint Project. Her 124 million Instagram followers, also known as the Bey Hive, were definitely excited about this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Introduced by Marco Borges, TheGreenprint Project highlights the concept of eating more plant-based diets in order to keep our pockets and environment green, giving many options for those who chose to participate in this new green lifestyle. The exercise physiologist and author brought this idea to the couple after having his most recent book’s foreword written by Beyoncé and Jay-Z.

According to CNN, Marco Borges, as well as Beyoncé and Jay-Z, said that “We are not about promoting any one way of living your life. You decide what’s best for you. What we are encouraging is for everyone to incorporate more plant-based meals into their everyday lives.”

Seeing this initiative from such an influential voice raises the question: how do celebrities impact the decisions we make in our lives? These decisions that we make can be small such as a wardrobe change or something large like a change in lifestyle. But, when we see a celebrity we idolize, we want to be like them in any way possible. Likewise, if Beyoncé were to go vegan or promote veganism on a large scale, it would only make sense for many of her followers (those who idolize her) to follow in her footsteps and change their lifestyles.

As many members of the Bey Hive were ecstatic on this once in a lifetime opportunity, a few gators held differing opinions. Sophomore Fiona Clarke shared, “As much as I admire celebrities, I am not going to base my life decisions on what they do. Yes, they are cool and all, but I do like having my own sense of individuality.”

Sophomore Olivia Szewczyk shared insight on why we want to aspire to these social icons along with her thoughts on Beyoncé’s contest, “We look up to celebs hoping we can be like them someday and they provide inspiration. If my favorite artist were to give away tickets if I went vegan, I wouldn’t go vegan but I bet other people would.”

So there it is Gators, Beyoncé and Jay-Z want you to save some green by going green and signing up for this potentially life-changing prize: free admittance to their concerts for LIFE. This contest is sure to impact the decisions thousands upon thousands of Beyoncé and Jay-Z fans, changing a large part of them just to follow in their idol’s footsteps.
