Escape the Room is a fun, interactive entertainment facility located in Old Town Scottsdale. It is an adrenaline-filled activity for a group of friends to test themselves under pressure and their puzzle-solving skills.

It starts in an ordinary-looking room that actually is filled with clues, hidden objects and puzzles for the group trapped in the room to hopefully find and escape before time runs out. Each group has 60 minutes to solve the puzzles toward freedom and they compete to attain the lowest time of solving and escaping.

Escape the Room offers many different themed rooms to escape from such as: the Apartment, the Western Bank Heist, the Rec Room or the Dig. The Apartment is a typical apartment room filled with hidden clues to discover. The Western Bank Heist is an old western bank with a prison and safes. The Rec Room is an 80’s themed room. Lastly, the Dig is a deep dark room designed to be a hole.

Senior Bella Guerra had her 18th birthday party at Escape the Room. “My friends and I had so much fun.We spent the hour full of energy and excitement. Everyone should try it,” she said.

Each room has a mirror with a camera above to allow the workers to watch you and your friends try to escape the room and aid you with hints if needed. The hints appear as words on the mirror if your group seems to be straying from escape.

James Clelland, a Brophy junior, said that he and his group had a rough start to escaping, but once they got started they were on a roll and finished within 48 minutes.
