Xavier’s varsity softball team holds up its state championship trophy in celebration after winning the championship against Hamilton 13-0. That was the fourth win of the season against the Huskies, sweeping them.

On Saturday, May 14, Xavier’s varsity softball team won the state championship with a score of 13-0 against Hamilton High School. The game finished after only 4 ½  innings, as Xavier was winning by more than 10. Going into the championship, the team’s record was 23 wins to 5 losses. Rubi Roman, a junior on the team, spoke on how even the losses helped the team reach the state title, saying, “When we realized we lost we had to find ourselves on the team to play as one on the field. That helped us develop the unity we have and helped us communicate and work as a team throughout the rest of the season, which encouraged us to win the state championship.”
