In the span of a few months, XCP theology teachers went from tirelessly grading papers and planning Kairos retreats to sharing baby name ideas and preparing to have baby boys. This started as a coincidence, but it quickly became a source of joy throughout the department.
Noah Minton, a newer member of the theology department at Xavier, recently welcomed a baby boy named Moses into his family.
He shared that his transition to Xavier and fatherhood have worked hand-in-hand, stating he feels “blessed to be at Xavier and have a schedule that allows me to spend time with my family while still working.”
He is excited to share that his family is expecting another baby boy in the next year.
Kaiti-Lynn Beazley was the second theology teacher to prepare for this next chapter, followed by Danielle Lambert. The two teachers were always bonded by their shared love for Christ, but being able to share this new “season” brought them even closer together.
Lambert said that going through pregnancy at the same time, while working together on retreats and campus ministry events, was “truly a blessing.” It allowed the two teachers to give each other grace and understanding while supporting one another.
Beazley and Lambert were both on maternity leave at the same time during the previous school year. With both teachers playing fundamental roles in the campus ministry, they saw the most support when teachers eagerly stepped up to help.
Noemi Santaella took over the preparation for Kairos 25, which took place in April of 2025. Beazley stated, “This support showed us that campus ministry is not all on us, and can survive without us. This support relieved a lot of our stress, and we are so thankful.”
Xavier rejoiced when Beazley welcomed Forrest into her family in February 2025 and Lambert welcomed Luke into her family in March of that same year.
The duty of serving Christ while teaching high school students is no small task, but motherhood has shown Lambert that she cannot always control everything, and she has found that it has taught her “not to sweat the small stuff.”
Beazley highlights that bringing students to Christ is important, but “motherhood has become her own personal ministry.” She confirms that there are certainly parallels between raising a child and guiding students in their spiritual journeys.
When asked if the shared experiences among campus ministry affected the sense of community, Beazly and Lambert both answered “absolutely.” With Minton’s “father’s” perspective on raising a boy, each teacher contributes stories and lessons unique to their own journeys.
As for students, occasionally seeing the young baby boys in upstairs Fitzgerald Hall is always the talk of the day. Senior Ellie Desmond says that seeing them “can lighten the mood of a stressful school day, with something as simple as a baby’s smile!”
For many, the presence of the babies is a reminder of the joy and family that is woven into the Xavier community.
Another important Xavier faculty member, Amelia Videan, is also preparing to welcome a baby boy into her family. Videan is a part of the counseling department, but she has also been an essential part of the theology department, as she has served as an adult leader on past Kairos retreats.
This past summer, the Xavier theology department shared excitement about these new chapters of life, in welcoming babies and a puppy into families, as Gavin Ahern welcomed a puppy named Murphy into his family in May 2025. Ahern hosted a “puppy and baby pool party” gathering for the department over the summer.
These moments perfectly exemplify the joy, community and sense of support that continues to grow within this department.
This unique pattern of baby boy births has fostered an incredible sense of community and support not just in upstairs Fitzgerald Hall, but throughout the entire school.
