Our hearts are with Brussels

Shaloni Pinto ’16 reports about the attacks in Brussels.

As “The Independent” reported that on March 22, 2016, there were deadly attacks in Brussels International Airport as well as the Malbeek Metro Station. According to “NPR“, the attacks killed 31 people and wounded 270 others. The terror group, the Islamic State (IS), has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Amour pour tous, haine pour personne. Love for all, hatred for no one.

As the “BBC” reported, airport officials participated in a silent walk for the victims of the attack. Many lit candles in churches and in homes and there was a gathering in Brussels’ Place de la Bourse to pay tribute to the victims. News sites, like NPR, continue to release information and offer obituaries for those who have died.

While Brussels unites together in love and remembrance for those who have suffered, communities across the world, keep the people of Belgium and many others who have faced such violence in their thoughts and prayers.
