As Xavier begins to enter deeper into its fall sports season, students take the time to show support for their fellow Gators.

Some of the fall teams include cross country, flag football, tennis, golf, mountain biking and more.

Two teams worthy of note this year are volleyball and badminton.

Varsity volleyball has played ten games out of eighteen. They have an impressive 9-1 record.

Chineze Gray, a junior, was excited to share about her team’s success throughout their games so far. “Our goal this season would be to make it to championships.”

Gray shared the team motto which is: “We the Xavier Gators strive for success through hard work, staying unified and supporting one another by giving max effort always!”

The Xavier community is looking forward to volleyball continuing its winning streak and spiking its way to the top of a championship.

Another notable team starting its season is badminton.

Varsity badminton has started off with 6 wins out of 10 games so far. Varsity player Carmela Wilson stated, “While our games are tough, we are well-matched by other schools and I remain confident in our team.”

Badminton’s team goal is to be ranked in the top 8 out of 16 teams, in order to be eligible for state championships.

According to online results from MaxPreps, badminton is currently ranked 11th in the state. In the Arizona region, the volleyball team is ranked number 1.

Both teams believe in their goals and are sure that they can accomplish them through hard work, confidence and teamwork.

They continue to shine on and off the court through positivity and teamwork.

Come out to support Xavier’s two “service” teams, and watch the Gator badminton and volleyball teams play their way to victory!
