Mckayla Schmal, Staff Writer

Mckayla Schmal is a sophomore at Xavier College Preparatory. At Xavier, Mckayla wants to be involved in the XPress, Xavierian, Student Ambassadors, Students For Social Action, Gators Giving Back, and Transfer Club. Outside of Xavier, she volunteers at several places, is writing her first book, is in the process of starting a non-profit organization to help the homeless, and more. In her free time, she loves reading, writing, photography, traveling, and watching Gilmore Girls. Mckayla loves journalism because she wants to be able to learn information and then share it with the community of Xavier. After Xavier, Mckayla wants to get accepted into Harvard University to pursue a career in journalism and to write books in her free time living in Boston. Mckayla is a Best of SNO award-winning writer.
