Lauren Wehner, XPress Freelancer

Lauren Wehner is a junior at Xavier and she has been writing for XPress since her sophomore year. At Xavier, Lauren is involved in NEHS, NAHS, NCHS, Mu Alpha Theta, the Writing Center, the Little Free Library Committee, and Pierian Spring. Outside of school, Lauren is a soccer coach for four through six year olds. She has a job as a swim instructor, as well. She is an active member in the volunteer community, working with organizations such as Check For a Lump and the Phoenix Mobile Health Unit. Lauren looks forward to another amazing year with XPress making an impact at Xavier alongside all the amazing journalists and photographers. Lauren is a Best of SNO award-winning writer.

Xavier College Preparatory senior Destiny De La O will be attending the University of Arizona to major in psychology, as she hopes to get a career in neuropsychology and potentially psychopharmacology to help those with abnormalities in their brains. Because theater helps give purpose and characters to stories much like how psychology focuses on understanding the behavior of others, Destiny has taken the opportunities to play her dream roles of Amaryllis in “The Music Man” her sophomore year and of Kurt Von Trapp in her dream show, “The Sound of Music,” her senior year.
