Charley Fisher, Editor-in-chief

Charley Fisher is a senior at Xavier College Preparatory who enjoys exploring new subjects such as studying astronomy with Xavier’s astronomy club or volunteering her time with Xavier Young Vincentians (XVY). This year, Charley is XYV’s Public Relator. She is also a member of the Quill & Scroll Honors Society. Outside of school, Charley is signed with Fordrba Modeling Agency and is very active in hot yoga with her mother; she also works a part-time job at her yoga studio. Charley is excited to continue her journey with XPress and to learn about the community around her through journalism. Charley is a Best of SNO award-winning writer. The Arizona Interscholastic Press Association (AIPA) awarded her an “Excellent” mark for sports writing in 2023.

STEMpoweringHER went to the Girls Leadership Academy of Arizona (GLAAZ) on April 5, 2024, to participate in an egg-drop experiment using engineering and physics. The students were split up into groups and given a range of materials, including balloons and sponges, to use in the design and construction of a device that would protect their delicate cargo—an egg—during a fall from a ten-foot stairway.
